Our senior students from the Cinema and Television Department, Nihad Jabiyev and Ayan Nurmukhanbetov, were awarded two separate prizes by the Selection Committee, chaired by Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Timisi Nalçaoğlu, at the “I Had an Idea” Inter-University Communication Ideas Competition, themed “Intellectual Property Awareness – Copyright 2.0,” organized for the 15th time this year by the Radio and Television Broadcasters’ Association (RATEM) with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Jabiyev and Nurmukhanbetov, together with our senior students Ceren Kocatabak and Elif Omur, won the “First Prize” in the Television category with their project.
Our students also won the “WIPO National Award for Creativity,” which has been given for two years as part of RATEM’s collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), affiliated with the World Trade Organization (WTO) under the United Nations. This award was given after evaluating 884 projects from 753 students participating in the competition from 95 universities this year, and was selected as the “most creative project” among the winners in six different categories.
We congratulate our students and their instructors, who prepared the public service announcement under the supervision of our Vice Dean and Assistant Professor of Cinema and Television, Dr. Sena Coşkun, and wish them continued success.
